Keefe Loh is a Malaysian director and producer. He shows the everyday life of Malaysians through his films, telling stories about his home country and the people in it. He is interested in both documentary and narrative.
His work explores human connection, and how shared emotions and experiences bridge divides of race and gender. Whatever our backgrounds, we are held together by a shared humanity, and he hopes his films remind people of how much they have in common.
His most recent work as producer is Ndhuk, directed by Koo Hui Yin, the first film from Malaysia in competition at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. He directed Waves of Life, a documentary short about a Mah Meri family who rely on fishing to make a living, which travelled to IDFA Docs for Sale in 2023 and the Visions du Réel market in 2024. It recently screened at the first edition of the Bangkok International Student Film Festival (SDOC BKK).
